The economic performance of the lake fisheries sub-sector of the inland fisheries sector was analyzed in 2012 based on data collected from a sample of fisheries enterprises that were classified as either “lake” or “pond-lake” enterprises. Additionally, the enterprises were divided into five categories according to total revenues generated, and then the amounts specific types of activity contributed to the revenues were determined in each group. Then, for the third methodological approach, three enterprises that differed with regard to revenues from lake production, pond production, and other types of activity were analyzed by determining the dynamics of revenue shares from different activities at each enterprise in the 2007-2012 period. The analysis indicated that the status of of lake fisheries in 2012 was advantageous as indicated by a profitability margin of 8.37%. Enterprises that practiced pond fish culture in addition to lake fisheries made a decisive contribution to the overall revenues in this sub-sector, while the analysis of selected enterprises indicated revenues increased steadily in the 2007-2012 period.
