ABSTRACT. Assessments of the status of Polish lake ichthyofauna is based primarily on fisheries reports. Little is known about the ichthyofauna of unexploited, protected waterbodies. This includes the lakes of Wolin National Park. One of these is Lake Gardno, which is located on Wolin Island 250 m from the Pomeranian Bay. Fish monitoring and underwater monitoring of Lake Gardno indicate that ichthyofauna is dominated by perch and roach. Additionally, species such as pike, rudd, and bleak were also observed in the lake. The aim of the study was to determine the species composition and size structure of the ichthyofauna in Lake Gardno. Differences in the status of the ichthyofauna at different depths of the lake was also examined.
