ABSTRACT. Probiotics are one of the more frequently used ingredients in fish feeds and other reared animals. Particular attention was paid to fish feeds supplemented with lactic acid bacteria that were used in aquaculture for feeding fish from the common carp family, salmonids, flatfish, and eel. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of the probiotic feed additive LAVIPAN, which is enriched with lactic acid bacteria (LAB). The study was carried out simultaneously in two different animal breeding centers – under laboratory conditions (Experimental Station of Feed Production Technology and Aquaculture in Muchocin) and under factory conditions (Stanislaw Błaszkowiak fish farm, PHU GAMA in Lipka village). The subject of the study was common carp fingerlings, and the trial lasted for two months. The beneficial effects on the rearing indexes, weight gain, survival rate, and fish health are discussed. Feeds for common carp fingerlings should be supplied with a probiotic feed additive in the amount of 1 g per 1 kg of fish feed.
