ABSTRACT. Questionnaire data from the 1997-2014 period were analyzed that were obtained from enterprises exploiting an average of 235,112 ha of lakes, which comprised in this analysis of production parameters 86.6% of the total lake surface area exploited for fisheries in Poland. It was revealed that the effectiveness of fisheries catches had declined decisively since 1997, and it was 8.2 kg ha-1 in 2014. This decrease was observed in all of the distinguished regions of the country and referred especially to catches of eel and other species that are not stocked. In the species structure of lake fisheries production revenues, eel was the most important comprising 33.2%; however, its share in the years analyzed decreased systematically. The significance of other species that are stocked (primarily pike, pikeperch, vendace, whitefish, tench, and crucian carp) increased, and their combined share of sales revenues was 54.2% in 2014.
