ABSTRACT. This work presents the mean wholesale price of commercial fish and the mean price of the stocking material used in 2017 by entities licensed to conduct fisheries in the waters of fishery zones – lakes, rivers, and dam reservoirs. Prices were calculated using information collected through survey questionnaires from 53 entities exploiting a total of more than 268,000 ha of waters. The comparison of commercial fish prices from 2017 with the results of the study from 2015 indicated that prices increased for most of the fish species and assortments, or sizes, analyzed. The exceptions were the DS (large and medium) sizes of wels catfish, Silurus glanis L., and perch, Perca fluviatilis L., and the S and M sizes of bream, Abramis brama (L.). Price increases above 5% were noted only in the M (small) sizes of whitefish, Coregonus lavaretus (L.), vendace, Coregonus albula (L.), white bream, Blicca bjoerkna (L.), roach, Rutilus rutilus (L.), and in carp, Cyprinus carpio L. caught in the waters, mostly those of lakes, of fishery zones. The remaining price increases ranged from approximately 1 to 5%. The species/sizes for which 70% of the respondents reported prices were designated as those that were caught most frequently in the waters, mostly those of lakes, of fishery zones. These included eel, Anguilla anguilla (L.), pikeperch, Sander lucioperca (L.), pike, Esox Lucius L., tench, Tinca tinca (L.), crucian carp, Carassius carassius (L.), pike and common bream sizes D and S (large and small), and roach sizes S and M (medium and small). In comparison to the prices from 2015, among the 25 types of stocking material analyzed, the prices of 18 types increased in 2017, while those of seven decreased. The types of stocking material used most frequently, and for which 50% of respondents reported prices, were reared eel, vendace and pike fry, fall pike fingerlings, summer pikeperch fingerlings, and 2+ tench and carp. It was noted that these fish species were those that were stocked most frequently in the waters of the fishery zones – lakes, rivers, and dam reservoirs.
Key words: commercial fish prices, stocking material prices, inland fisheries management
